There has also been word that Brian Kelly has talked to Golden directly and hinted at using him as a potential RB.

Again, this is just the "word on the street", which lately hasn't amounted to crap. However, it makes you wonder how much Tate would excel as an all around player in this type of offense, catching the ball out of the backfield or running the sweep. There's no question that Tate can break a tackle or two, but running the ball up the middle? I don't think he's quite big enough to do that. Hell, Allen even has trouble doing that.

Attention Brian Kelly: Recruit in Detroit!!!

Purcell Pavilion

<img style="display:block; Part of the problem comes with having to read and listen to every damn columnist, radio and TV personality throw crap at ND any chance they get. That's what I expected when I saw an article in the Detroit Free Press called "People blasting Brian Kelly's loyalty are hypocrites" by Jamie Samuelsen. I don't believe I've read any of his work, but I figured it would lead to some sort of ND trashing. For example here's a couple of columns by other reporters here in the area:

Its football program's ability to maintain its status as one of the nation's elites, as one of the most coveted jobs in America and the obvious destination of every five-star high school senior in the country, clearly has taken a significant blow the last decade. And, really, maybe even longer.

It begs the question -- can he become a national recruiter? Not only that, can he recruit while being slightly handcuffed by Notre Dame's strict academic admissions policy? And how quickly can he overcome being enamored by the bigness of this job and do what he does best and win?

This was written by Angelique S. Chengelis who obviously doesn't know anything outside of East Lansing or Ann Arbor. She's correct by saying that ND can't get EVERY five star recruit, but in this day and age of college football not even Florida is pulling that off. Other schools are getting more, but with all of the lopsided judgment in high school talent between all of these recruiting websites, who's to say a 4 star isn't a 5 star. She asks the question, can ND become a national recruiter? Well, not sure if she actually paid attention, but even though he wasn't a great head coach, Charlie Weis was pretty damn good recruiter. Fact is he pulled two 5 star QB's out of California, and a 100 star LB in Teo from Hawaii in the last 3 years. All 3 were being heavily recruited by USC. Brian Kelly has only lost one recruit from Charlie Weis' hard work, Chris Martin, and I'm not surprised by that. Martin was visiting other schools way before Charlie lost control of the season. The current class ranks in the top 15 by most websites, way better than what Weis had coming into South Bend 5 years ago. Weis proved what Ty Willingham couldn't, and that was he could still pull in athletes with today's admission standards. Weis' downfall was that he only knew offense and the defense lacked motivation and development.

Here's another quote from one of my favorite ND haters, Drew Sharp of the Detroit Free Press:

But the Irish bailed, justifying their decision as taking the more honorable road following a disappointing season that far fell below early expectations. It didn't bother them a year ago, taking a similar 6-6 record to a bowl game in Hawaii.

Different situations, that's all I have to say to that quote. Weis was still at ND last year, and ND's team desperately needed confidence going into the next season. This year with Weis being fired and Clausen and Tate leaving for the NFL, it just wasn't the right situation for the team. ND's players had voted to not play in a bowl this year, even though Swarbrick had final say, the players did vote not to play in a final game. Just a fact that Mr. Sharp forgot to put in his article.

So with that, now the article by Jamie Samuelsen

What? What is wrong with me, didn't I want to see what the next coach had to say? And I thought to myself, it doesn't really matter. Five years ago I sat and listened to then coach Charlie Weis use words like "Nasty" and goose bumps began to form. However, it didn't happen this time and I have a feeling I know why. Okay some of it may be that last time it was live and this time I watched a taped version, but not a lot.

Kelly seems like he wants to lead and motivate players to win at Notre Dame, and that's exactly what they need. Then why am I not excited to experince a new era in the most storied football program in the country? Well I guess I'll go back to the start of this season and quote former coach Weis, "You're going to have to show me." Until I see these players believe...and I mean BELIEVE in their coach, this will be just like Davie, Willingham, and Weis. Motivation is the key to a college football program, and that is passed down from the head coach, to the assistant coaches, to the players, the managers, and even the fans. That's right I said fans. Getting told to sit down during the freaking SC game, that's just ridiculous! The football seats or benches are made for one reason, resting your tired screaming ass during timeouts. But that's just Notre Dame, a university that I love with a passion, but it remains a little classier at times when I wish they were not.

So, if Kelly can motivate this program, motivate the university, motivate South Bend, this might work. Until I see the look, the feeling...yes the goose bumps...I will be a sceptic from a far. Good luck Brian Kelly, make the most of it.

New set design

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 225px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_g2gEER7X5RM/SyK1QbLRS9I/AAAAAAAAAEU/JCYoVlBbs20/s400/newset.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5414088995830320082" />
Who says you can't build a set in your basement. Juniper Junction has taken a long enough break. A job change, long hours...and just pure laziness has contributed to a poor showing on this site. However, as Notre Dame enters the Big East Tournament, it's time to give props! Tonight Luke Harangody and Head Coach Mike Brey were named Big East Player of the Year and Big East Coach of the Year respectively. Oh, forgot, Kyle McAlarney was named along with Gody as 1st team All-Big East. Amazing! Not only was Harangody not picked to compete for the Player of the Year honors to start the season, Notre Dame as a team was picked to finish 9th, after losing 2 All-Big East 1st teamers. And if you've been following all year like I have, you already know they won an amazing 14 games in the Big East. Yes, the same Big East that expanded to a bubble popping 16 teams a couple years back. That's 27 wins in consecutive years! Other than Georgetown, Notre Dame stands tall in a crowded conference.

Now, if you read previous posts, you would of have read that I predicted that Notre Dame Basketball would be back, and after another undefeated season at home, they're here! Two years ago I recognized the talent coming into South Bend, and said it's only a matter of time before the Irish return to the glory days of Digger and '78. So tonight, I would like to congratulate the entire Notre Dame Basketball team for outstanding season. Good luck this week, and good luck in the dance. I have never, in my 31 years of existence, witnessed a Notre Dame men's basketball team undefeated at home. Most collegiate athletic fans of the University of Notre Dame are die hard football fans. But the roots come from basketball. As a kid, I was only fortunate enough to attend the basketball games...football tickets were few and far between. I grew up cheering for the David Rivers, the Damon Sweets, the Elmer Bennetts, the Ryan Hoovers. I grew up watching the end of Digger, and the beginning of what would turn out to be a long growing process. Transition into the Big East, the Ross twins, and John McCloud. I never stopped watching. I love being at the Joyce, although I wish the older ticket holders would stand up a little. Trust me, I know you're old, but get off you're fricking feet or give your tickets to me.

This year was not a surprise for me, for some it was, but for me...I knew for a long time that either this year...or next year that Irish basketball fans would be rejoicing on Juniper Road on a consistent basis. It didn't always seem this way though, with the sudden KMac scandal, and throwing a freshmen point guard in the mix, it didn't look as promising as I would of hoped heading into Big East play. However, TJ grew into his role faster than I thought, faster than people even know right now. This kid is amazing, and while you have the Ogdens and the Durants, there are 2 Notre Dame freshmen who will be talked about longer than these in and out money hungry drop-outs. So as we head into our last Big East game against Rutgers, everything is on the line...a lock for a bye in the Big East tourney, and an impressive season that many though would end up in the gutter. So I tip my hat to the great Colin Falls, and Mr. Russell Carter, who as a duo, helped lead this team to 22-6 heading into March. GO IRISH!!!!

Notre Dame March....I mean Michigan State Marching Band

Here's a video of a portion of the Michigan State Marching Band playing the Notre Dame fight song. However, since I last left you, I was gearing up for the Michigan game. That was painful to say the least, but the week following, the wife I and made a visit to East Lansing for our traditional ND-State match-up. I'll tell you this, at one point, I told my Emily(State Alumni), "Our kids will never go to school here." Yeah, pretty rough stuff, but in the end things turned sour for the whole stadium, especially on the pressbox side where we sat. I was one of only a few ND fans that were in my section. Needless to say I got picked on the whole game. Well, after Lambert's final interception, I had a chance to get back at one State fan who was on me the whole game.

The rest of the season, I've been amazed at how unfair the media has treated this Irish team. The perception that ND was supposed to be the greatest at season start, was probably a little overdone. However, if you don't remember, a lot of Willingham and Davie players that the media likes to point out, have left this team. I could care less what people say in comparison to Weis and Willingham, the thing is Weis will probably take ND to it's second straight BCS game. He is currently 17-4, and this offense is better than Willingham would have ever made it if he was still head coach. The defense still needs some work, we all know that, but while the media likes to point out the failures in the secondary, they're still better than what they were last year. And, there are other teams in the top 10 who have defenses that are suspect as well. Today I had a chance to look at the computer rankings that the BCS uses. Last week ND had the 5 best computer average, but was 9th overall in the BCS standings. Why, well because it's a perception bias. Ranking the Irish as low as they have is simply crap, and they know it. The Michigan game was a fluke, and they know it. Notre Dame still has a chance to get into the NC picture, whether the media likes it or not. Teams keep losing, Louisville WILL lose next week to Rutgers, and Rutgers will lose to West Virginia. Now, Texas is looking at a rematch with Nebraska in the Big 12 championship, Florida has to face Steve Spurrier this weekend, and that looks to be a good matchup. Auburn faces a sliding Georgia team that will look to bounce back, and Cal still has USC. Don't worry about ND, they will win the next 3 games, trust me. So that leaves Michigan-Ohio State. Well, the best thing that can happen for us, is that Ohio State gets hammered by Michigan, and somehow we're 3rd when we play USC. Then, it's time for the game of the year for the Irish, they will have to prove that they are worthy enough to jump Ohio State and play Michigan for a rematch for the National Championship. That would piss off the media, and the rest of the nation.

Slapper Event Scheduled

I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the convention that's being held in East Lansing this weekend. Today, September 16, 2006, will mark Mr. Carr's 4 visit to Notre Dame Stadium as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines. He is currently 0-3 in South Bend, and soon to be 0-4. The curse shall live on, because how can you say that you were not nervous going into South Bend for the first time as a head coach. The ghosts of Notre Dame legends will haunt opposing head coaches forever, and to smugly say that you're not worried, well that just made it worse.

I'm sorry, did we forgot to tell you about our speed pills.

Well Mr. Mark May, it's should be pretty obvious to you now that Notre Dame's defense is for real. I don't care if Penn State was starting a QB for only the 2nd time, to most pundits he was supposed to come in after picking apart Akron. Please, if you were a true analyst, you knew that coming into South Bend for your second start wasn't going to be easy. Especially with an energized fan base, topped off with Charlie's version of the terrible towel. Then add in the fact that half of the student population shaved their heads with mohawks, inspired by a boxer who delivered several knock-out punches against the Nittany Lions.

Then a special treat for all of you Pennsylvania fans, Mr. Travis Thomas, the Weis created "Two-Headed Monster", taking a direct snap up the middle on a fake punt, then crashing into the end zone on another 4th down, like a runaway train. Did I mention he was from Pennsylvania? Yeah, just a little spit shine on the way home to rub it in. Corso, for a second straight week, you were wrong, and here's a message, stay away from the bandwagon, there's no room for you at all. Damn, with everyone jumping on after this week because of the D, we might have to get an add on trailer.

Calvin Johnson...Mr. Rambling Wreck!

Just a quick post about ND's 4 point victory over GT last weekend. Look, don't worry, this is not what we're going to see all year. Yes teams are going to come at us, yes, some of these games will be scary close, but that does not mean that it will be like this all year. September will be a tough month to handle if you're an Irish fan. The Irish simply play better teams, other than the rest of the top 25, give or take two or three teams. On the road, against a quality ACC team, one that upset Auburn at home, and Miami at home last year. Weis has quietly gone 6-0 on the road, not counting the Fiesta Bowl, and the only coach since Ara P. to go 2-0 on the road on the first game of the season, in his first two seasons. And without any surprise, the voters came down on us. Dropped us to 4 in the AP poll and 5 in the coaches poll. What does that mean? I can't tell you, other than the fact that those idiots wanted to hype up tOSU vs Texas this weekend. Wait, we went on the road, came back from 10 points down, held GT scoreless in the 2nd half, and won the game, we fucking won the game. See, it's a shame when winning against a quality team, on the road means nothing. So a big FUCK YOU goes out to all the poll voters this week, have fun in Austin with a bunch of players who can't stay off the drugs and guns (Texas), and a coach who tells his players to cheat(tOSU). It's too bad, because you could be hyping a story of two storied programs, that are tied in the all-time series, that have countless memorable moments, and will add more this weekend. Go Irish! Beat State!
<img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/27393763-115751610908339913?l=juniperjunction.blogspot.com' alt='' Weis confirmed the fact that Travis Thomas will have a chance to start at weakside linebacker. Talks between Weis and Thomas over the spring, led to Travis to practice at that position all summer. However, Weis has yet to see him in action, and is just as excited as the rest of us to see what he's accomplished. Thomas will continue to play at the running back position from time to time. Depending on how Aldridge, Prince, and Schmidt (freshmen) do in training camp, Thomas will probably see the number of carries drop if they produce early.

Other news, DJ Hord is out for the season, because of a torn a achilles tendon. Don't get me wrong, I am too. But before we forget, there is some preparation we all need to do prior to the 2006 kickoff. You've all probably made sure all weddings, funerals, class reunions and child births are all scheduled or rescheduled around the 12 gamedays this fall. Good...that's very good. You've learned well, grasshopper. However, don't forget about the most important thing. Taking the time and care to prepare your liver for the celebratory festivities during this exciting season.

With that being said, I'd like you all to take a break from all the hype and hoopla to prime the four lobes of your liver. (If you're a TRUE ND fan, you may be one of the mystical few that actually have grown a 5th lobe, specifically for those long pregame festivities before night games.)

On the very last free weekend you have to spend with your wife or girlfriend, take her out to dinner and a movie. More specifically, take her out to see the opening of what is sure to be an instant classic on the cable channel "AMC". Yes, that's right, opening August 25th is the one, ...the only, ...the absolute PERFECT movie ever conceived. From the makers of "Super Troopers" comes a movie entirely about the 5th and final food group, or what some of us have labeled "Liquid Bread". Yes, that's right, BEER.

Yes, "Beerfest". A movie about beer, drinking beer, competing with beer, beer science, women in beer costumes, beer...beer...beer. The only thing missing is beer being served in the movie theatres (although some are doing that now.)

So, before you start warming up your "W" hand gestures for gameday, and even before you start creatively practicing your "F bomb" skills that will be surely directed toward Mark May

and his baffling knowledge of college football. It was a scanned image, and I'm not sure why it's doing that, it looked fine before I posted it. So back to some college football news. First off, Lee Corso released his top 10 predictions for the college football season to a local newspaper. I guess he didn't learn much from last year.
http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/ncaa/article/
0,2777,DRMN_23932_4847011,00.html

Second, rolling off the tongue, Corso, Herbstreit, and Fowler are expanding their College Gameday coverage to a full 2 hours. So, Clutch, phone will ring at 9:55am on saturday throughout the fall, just a friendly heads up. What, were looking at a possible championship year, come on!

Third, Gary Gray, of some high school I don't know, decommitted from USC (no, not the girls from Southern California, South Carolina) after taking an unofficial visit to ND. Gray is listed by scout.com as the #6 rated CB in the country. He plans on taking an official visit to both campus' in the fall. He picked the Michigan game for his South Bend trip, so might as well call this one in the bag. I'm sorry, but even Steve Spurrier can't compete against that.
http://www.goupstate.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060716/PSPORTS02/60716004/-1/PSPORTS
<ahref="http: aid="/20060716/PSPORTS02/60716004/-1/PSPORTS""></ahref="http:>

And the Emmy goes to...

Well the hard work finally paid off, and I got my first Emmy. Well, second if you count my beautiful wife Emily. I had 3 nominations going into Saturday, however, lost 2 in a crowded group of talented players. Two of the nominations were in producing categories, one was for stricktly editing. I won in the Crime Program/Special, a producing category in which I was going head-to-head with a reporter/anchor I work with at Fox 2-WJBK. He's a really nice guy, loud....but really nice. The other producing category I had 3 others against me, and the editing category I was jam packed with 5 others. So, I'm glad I didn't come home empty handed. I have to give a lot of credit to the Executive Producer of the Macomb County Bar Association who supported myself, and my co-producer Charlie Langton. Rick Troy has let me drive the bus for a long time now, and it's paid off for not only Charlie and I, but also for the MCBA. Thanks Rick! I also want to say thanks to Mr. Ken Wyniemko, who was the basis for the program entitled "Price of Innocence". Ken spent 9 years behind bars for a crime he didn't commit, finally being exonerated through the use of DNA testing. Hopefully there will be many more Emmys and other awards to come, stay tuned.

What a swell guy!

Weis was recently at a Chicago luncheon, talking about the upcoming fall camp, and how it would play out. Knowing that most people wouldn't pay $40 to see 4 rounds of Tom Zbikowski fight in his first pro boxing match, myself along with a team of scouts, have gotten the early reports. Good thing you didn't waste your money, because Tommy Z knocked out Robert Bell (the Ohio State fan) in 49 seconds. Yep, you read correctly, 49 seconds to see the Blue and Gold ripping him across the chin, just as fast as he ripped the ball out of Jason Teague's hands while playing Michigan State in 2002. Now remember, Tommy Z was almost 15 pounds lighter than this idiot Bell. Not that makes it a big deal, but the jackass kept referring to Z as "Rudy" at the press conference on Friday.

Not sure if you're seeing this, but this senior class is something special. Brady Quinn, Jeff Samardzija, and Tom Zbikowski (Quinn being the only name that most people can pronounce correctly) are not only putting up headlines as college football elites, but they are taking other sports headlines away as well. I'm sure the video will be on the net shortly. Stay tuned to Juniper Junction, but for right now read the fight notes on fightnews.com.

Update...ESPN.com has a more in-depth tale of the speedy fight. I will have the video, but not until August. Apparently, HBO is planning on broadcasting the fights on August 5th, at 7 p.m. as part of their World championship Boxing. However, HBO is not currently advertising the event on their website, but according to the MSG website it is.

More Zibby updates...back to the gridiron, Z was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, as the top defensive player. Today, Mr. Jeff Samardzija was picked up in the First Year Player Draft, Day One, pick number #149 by my favorite team, the Chicago Cubs. A little background baseball info on Jeff as a RHP, last month, Notre Dame Baseball Coach Paul Mainieri clocked Samardzija's fastball at 99 m.p.h. Holy shit! 99 m.p.h.! He also said that Jeff's fastball has been consistently in the 90's. This is good news for Cubs fans worldwide, because fucking Tommy John screwed up our last smoker. Remember the days of Kerry Wood, 20 some strikeouts in a game, well, hopefully Jeff will realize that he's the next Bo Jackson, and lead the Cubbies to a World Series. On the other hand, Jeff has made it public that he will not skip out on his last year of eligibility as the #1 returning WR for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. However, it probably looks like he will skip his last year as pitcher for 2007 Irish, and begin preparing for the NFL draft. Side note, Notre Dame got their ass kicked in this year's College World Series. Good reason not to come back. So unless he can handle the workload, we probably won't see him suit up in a Cubbies uniform anytime soon. Unless, the Bears pick him up in the draft, then maybe, maybe. This week they've decided to focus on a past QB from Notre Dame that was famous. Is your mouth watering yet? You're thinking..."Yeah, what ever happened to Tony Rice, or what has Ron Powlus been up to prior to him returning to the team last year to assist the coaching staff?" Well, apparently Tony finally finished up his Masters degree at ND and has fled the country. And for good 'ol Ronnie, well the new Jenny Craig diet he's on this off season has kept him in the weight room rather than in the media room. What about Ricky Waters? Bobby Brown? Derrick Mayes? Bobby Taylor? Joey Getherall? What about all the rest of the great players in those two decades? Who knows. Instead they decided to focus on......Kevin McDougal. That's right. Of all the famous people in those 20 years, the best they could start off with was Kevin McDougal. I've got 2 questions for Rivals.com.

First, try doing a Google Image search of the name Kevin McDougal. The only thing you get that's even ND related is a signed ND helmet by him and a picture of ND's "Snow Bowl" game where Rick Mirer is at QB. Rick Mirer??? The bulk of the images are of some guy named Kevin McDougal that apparently played defense for Colorado State.

Ok...ok. Let's give Rivals.com the benefit of the doubt. Let's look at the ND record books. Ahhhhhhh, yeah. Kevin who?

Riiiiight. Way to start your story off on an exciting note Rivals.com. Wake me up when you do a story about Reggie Ho.

Attention all Irish livers! First, the upside, it's a great build up throughout the day. Watching other games, listening to previews all day long (especially for the ND vs USC game on Nov. 25th @ 8:00 EST). The downside, well that's if you decide to make the trip to East Lansing for the ND vs State game. Tailgating for a good work day until the game starts, which happens to be an 8:00 EST kickoff this year, can really tell the tale of one's liver. Will the liver get so wasted that it walks out of the game in the 1st QTR, to urinate next to a dumpster. That year they played 0, that's zero, of their games at home. Yes, that means every single weekend they played on the road...and yet they still went undefeated. Don't remember it? Well, that's because it happened in 1929 with good 'ol Knute under the helm. Well, it looks like we might just have this opportunity again. Well, sort of. ND athletic director Kevin White announced today that ND will start scheduling games at "neutral" locations, in an attempt to "return the school to its independent roots" and to "behave more like an independent -- go back to the coach Rockne barnstorming era if you will." This is being done to help with recruiting and allow ND fans to see games that they normally wouldn't be able to travel to.

Kevin then states: "I think over time we've really begun to behave like a wannabe conference member."

You hear that Big 10 fans?! Get off me!! ND won't be joining your garbage dump of a conference anytime soon. So quit asking.

Get off!!!

Alas...White then stated: "We have enough heavyweights on the schedule," he said. "We need to have a schedule that's conducive to success."

What does that mean? The teams below where played during that amazing 1929 season. If they decide to fall back to the days of Knute, we could see these teams in our modern day 12 game season. Let's just hope they're a little less creative with these "Neutral" locations. Can you imagine the score if ND played Carnegie Mellon? Triple digit scores????

Roberts Out

If you haven't heard, Tony Roberts, the play-by-play radio announcer for Notre Dame Football has been fired by Westwood One. Replaced by the robot Don Criqui. This is pure bullshit. Sorry for the language, but Westwood One is a bunch of bastards! Tony Roberts was a perfect fit for ND. I would actually turn the audio down on my TV, and turn on the AM radio just to listen to him call the game. Now we have to listen to Don Criqui call games. That guy needs to be calling Harvard games. I hate that guy! It would be nice if NBC would kick out Tom Hammond and put Tony in as TV play-by-play. That would juice the ratings like crazy! Oh well, it seems like in the world of hearless cut throats, Tony got one right across the juggler, as did Notre Dame Fans all over the world. I'll tell you this David Halberstam of Westwood One, ND fans are not going to like this one bit, and you're going to hear from them soon. Depending on who you listen to, Duval Kamara, stands somewhere from 6-3, to 6-5, and weighs in somewhere around 2005-210. He's rated by scout as a four star, now it's a little too early to tell if that's the case, and Tom Lemming is rating him one of the 5 best receivers in the nation. Whatever, and whoever this guy is, he's supposed to name Notre Dame as his college choice, either at 11:00 am or at 5:15 pm on ESPN. It's a good take on what Weis is teaching besides the game of football. This is courtesy of the boys from ND Nation. On a side note, I was at the Lions Rookie Mini-camp. Apparently, the players organization, or players filed a grievance against the Lions for working them too hard in camp. League officials are taking two mini-camp practices away from the Lions as a result. Former Lions coach Wayne Fontes heard of the news late Friday night, and was emotional.
http://therockreport.blogspot.com/

Future Practice Squads

The Univeristy of Notre Dame will face fresh new foes in the coming years to kick off the football season. Ken was released from prison on June 17, 2003, after spending 9 years in prison for a crime that he did not commit. Since then, a documentary called "After Innocence" has been showing in colleges and large cities across the nation, and examines the life of other inmates around the nation that have been exonerated, telling their stories of adjusting to their new lives outside of prison. Now, another documentary is making it's debut at the University of Notre Dame, and other large cities. FACING LIFE: The Retrial of Evan Zimmerman is an intimate portrait of one man's choice to reject a tainted freedom in an effort to prove - to his family, friends, and everyone else - that he's not a murderer. Filmmakers Shane DuBow and David Boodell follow Zimmerman and his defense team through their final trial preparations and then on to a startling conclusion in court - one that speaks both to the high cost of imperfect justice and to the difficulties of fighting convictions secured without the use of DNA. When are they going to realize that a playoff will draw huge ratings, bring in tons of money, and select a true National Championship. They can still have other bowls, just make it a 8 team playoff. Years away from that actually happening, since they renewed the BCS contract recently. Those who haven't heard, my dumb ass left my debit car at a gas station at 4:30 am on a Sunday on the way to work. 7 hours later, I found out that around $900 had been charged to my card at two different Meijer locations. I have spent a good 48 hours working my ass off to find the person who stole the card. And then tonight, I got a call saying that they tried to use the card at Meijer again! This is after they tried to use the card yesterday, at the same gas station that I lost the card, and were denied! So the moral to this story, don't be as stupid as the next guy. Also, another thanks to my good friend Jim at the Sterling Heights Police Department who gave me some good information on how to attack the situation.

Midnight Madness is not a sin

This is actually an old post from ndnation.com. It's a article that talks about how ND should think about holding a midnight madness for the first fall practice. Typically, ND has the first fall practice during a home football game. Bruce and I actually went during the Michigan State game 3 years back. Boring as hell, and this article explains what COULD be done. Imagine Ross twin #1 dunking over Ross twin #2...booya! I did write South Bend Tribune, and forwarded the link hoping they would write an article to spark some interest, so far no luck. http://www.ndnation.com/blog/2006/04/after-midnight.html

Who the hell is Lewis Preston

As reported by every media agency in the Metro South Bend area, Lewis Preston has resigned from the University of Notre Dame's Men's Basketball Team.
